US & Global Market Drivers

The S&P 500 ended lower on Tuesday, weighed down by weakness in Salesforce and other software stocks. Meanwhile, escalating tensions in the Middle East pushed crude oil prices higher as investors remained focused on upcoming inflation data, which could influence expectations for future interest-rate decisions.

Asian markets are trading mixed as investors remain optimistic about the AI sector. However, the rally is being tempered by rising geopolitical risks, with Brent crude approaching $100 per barrel amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Crude Oil

Brent crude moved close to the $100-per-barrel mark after reports of US strikes on Iranian tankers near Kharg Island, a major Iranian oil-export hub. The developments have increased concerns over potential disruptions to oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.

Market Focus: Investors will closely monitor US inflation data, interest-rate expectations, crude oil prices, and developments in the Middle East for further market direction.
