Gold

September-delivery gold fell $48.30 per troy ounce to settle at $4,429.80, down 1.08% for the week. This marked the second consecutive weekly decline, with gold losing a total of $194.30, or 4.20%, over the past two weeks—the largest two-week decline since the week ended June 12, 2026.

Gold fell $61.90, or 1.38%, today, ending a two-session winning streak. The metal declined in six of the past nine sessions. It is currently 16.71% below its 52-week high of $5,318.40, recorded on January 29, 2026, but remains 22.60% above its 52-week low of $3,613.20, recorded on September 5, 2025. Year-to-date, gold is up $104.20, or 2.41%.

Silver

September-delivery COMEX silver declined 94.80 cents per troy ounce to settle at $66.047, posting a 1.42% weekly decline. This was the second consecutive weekly decline, with silver down $3.419, or 4.92%, over the past two weeks, its largest two-week decline since the week ended July 17, 2026.

Silver fell 92.60 cents, or 1.38%, today, ending a two-session advance. The metal declined in four of the past six sessions. Silver is 42.61% below its 52-week high of $115.08, recorded on January 26, 2026, while remaining 61.57% above its 52-week low of $40.878, recorded on September 9, 2025. Year-to-date, silver is down $4.087, or 5.83%.

Copper

September-delivery copper gained 3.50 cents per pound to settle at $6.5970, recording a 0.53% weekly increase. This was its strongest weekly gain since the week ended August 7, 2026, and its first weekly advance after two consecutive weekly declines.

Copper rose 2.00 cents, or 0.30%, today, reaching its highest settlement level since August 25, 2026. The metal is 1.68% below its 52-week high of $6.7095, recorded on August 25, 2026, but remains 47.17% above its 52-week low of $4.4825, recorded on September 5, 2025. Year-to-date, copper is up 96.70 cents, or 17.18%.

Crude Oil

October-delivery crude oil surged $8.08 per barrel, or 9.69%, to settle at $91.48. It was the strongest weekly gain since the week ended July 17, 2026, marking the fifth consecutive weekly advance.

Crude oil edged up 18 cents, or 0.20%, today, with gains in five of the past six sessions. Prices reached their highest settlement level since July 23, 2026. Despite the recent rally, crude remains 19.01% below its 52-week high of $112.95, recorded on April 7, 2026, but is 65.51% above its 52-week low of $55.27, recorded on December 16, 2025. Year-to-date, crude oil is up $34.06, or 59.32%.

Natural Gas

 

October-delivery natural gas rose 8.70 cents, or 3.01%, per million British thermal units (MMBtu) to settle at $2.9750. This marked the fourth consecutive weekly gain, with prices rising a total of 31.30 cents, or 11.76%, over the period—the strongest four-week gain since the week ended June 19, 2026.

Natural gas gained 6.20 cents, or 2.13%, today, advancing in two of the past three sessions. The contract is 60.12% below its 52-week high of $7.46, recorded on January 28, 2026, but remains 17.92% above its 52-week low of $2.523, recorded on April 24, 2026. Year-to-date, natural gas is down 71.10 cents, or 19.29%.

Market Summary

The U.S. commodity market showed a mixed trend during the week. Crude oil and natural gas continued their strong rallies, while gold and silver posted their second consecutive weekly declines. Copper recovered after two weeks of losses and recorded a weekly gain.
