Gautam Adani Gets Relief in US Case
Gautam Adani received a major legal relief in the US after a federal court dismissed securities fraud charges against him and his nephew, Sagar Adani.
US District Judge Nicholas Garaufis in Brooklyn, New York, on Monday dismissed conspiracy, securities fraud and wire fraud charges against the Adanis. The case was filed in late 2024 during the final days of the Joe Biden administration.
The dismissal removes a major legal hurdle that had posed a potential challenge to the expansion plans of the Adani Group.
Crude Oil
Oil prices extended their gains for a fourth consecutive session as fresh demands from US President Donald Trump raised doubts over the prospects of an agreement that could restore normal traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
Brent crude traded near $88 per barrel, after surging nearly 5% in the previous session.
Market Outlook
Global markets are likely to remain sensitive to developments around the US-Iran situation, Strait of Hormuz disruptions, crude oil prices and broader geopolitical risks. Investors will also track movements in Asian equities and the opening trend in Indian markets for further direction.
