Global equity markets traded with a positive bias as investors focused on strong corporate earnings, easing geopolitical concerns, and upcoming policy developments in India.
US equity markets closed sharply higher, with major indices gaining between 1.32% and 2.13%. Investor sentiment was boosted by Amazon’s strong quarterly earnings, which reinforced confidence in AI-related technology stocks. However, Apple shares declined after its quarterly results fell short of market expectations.
European markets also ended higher, with the exception of the FTSE, which closed slightly lower.
Asian markets traded mixed on Tuesday. South Korean equities came under pressure as investors booked profits in heavyweight chipmakers following last week’s record rally, while leverage-backed positions were reduced.
In India, GIFT Nifty remained largely unchanged, indicating a flat to slightly positive opening for the Nifty, around the 24,650 level.
The Government of India is expected to introduce the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026. The proposed legislation aims to extend tax incentives for electronics manufacturing, simplify regulations for foreign investment funds, and provide tax relief for REITs, InvITs, data centres, and sovereign debt investors. The reforms are intended to attract investment, strengthen supply chains, and further improve India’s business-friendly tax framework.
In the commodities market, optimism over easing tensions in the Middle East supported market sentiment. Brent crude traded around $84.47 per barrel, up approximately 0.8%.
