🔹 The US Commerce Department has announced countervailing duties on solar cells and panels imported from India, Indonesia, and Laos.
🔹 According to the department’s fact sheet, the subsidy rates have been set as follows:
▪️ India – 125.87%
▪️ Indonesia – 104.38%
▪️ Laos – 80.67%
🔹 The move follows a petition filed last year by a group of U.S. solar manufacturers, alleging unfair trade practices.
🔹 Technology stocks supported the market with a strong rebound after the recent decline triggered by concerns related to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
🔹 Asian markets advanced as investor concerns eased following the recovery in Wall Street tech shares.
🔹 Crude oil prices edged slightly higher. Traders are assessing the prospects of a U.S.–Iran nuclear deal, while increased U.S. military activity in the Middle East is keeping markets cautious.
