US equity markets ended on a flat to positive note.

European markets, except CAC, closed in the red.

Most Asian equity markets are trading higher in early trade after US equities ended higher in a volatile session, as investors assessed the renewed US-China trade tensions.

GIFT Nifty is up by 60 points, indicating Nifty futures are likely to open around 25470 levels.

The S&P 500 closed higher on Wednesday, supported by gains in Morgan Stanley and Bank of America following strong quarterly results. Investors also remained focused on the recent escalation in US-China trade tensions.

Oil prices rebounded from a five-month low after US President Donald Trump claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had pledged to stop purchasing Russian crude — a move that could tighten global supply. Brent crude rose above $62 per barrel.
