🔸 United States:

U.S. President Donald Trump has imposed 25% tariffs on imports from Japan and South Korea, warning that additional tariffs will follow if these countries retaliate. However, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made no mention of tariffs or official letters during her media address.

Meanwhile, tariff notification letters were also issued to Kazakhstan, Malaysia, South Africa, Myanmar, and Laos.

🔹 Equity Market Performance:

▪ U.S. equity markets ended lower, with losses ranging from 0.79% to 0.94%, as trade tensions resurfaced.

▪ European markets, barring the FTSE, closed higher in the range of 0.35% to 1.19%.

▪ Asian markets edged up slightly, supported by hopes of further negotiations after the new tariffs were announced.

🔸 Crude Oil:

Oil prices remained steady as investors assessed the impact of the new U.S. tariffs and rising tensions in the Red Sea region.

🔹 Indian Markets:

Sensex and Nifty trading down by around 35&7 points.
